Bank access: LimitedCushlough and Cahir are the best-known public east-shore access points and IFI funded access works at Cushlough. Bank fishing exists, but the core trout game is boat-drift fishing over rocks and shallows.

Local notes

Cushlough Bay, Lively Bay, Ramshorn Bay and Golden Bay recur in guide and competition material, with rocky shores and shallow areas repeatedly singled out. Mask is more open and less forgiving than Corrib, and its classic game is wet-fly drifting over rock and shallow structure rather than searching big weeded bays. Best-attested condition patterns are strong-wave or overcast wet-fly days on the rocky shores/shallows, while late-season sources consistently note fish concentrating in bays near inflowing rivers. PROXY: Cushlough becomes awkward once summer weed thickens.
