Local notes

Named productive areas are unusually well documented: principal duckfly water includes Brickeen Bay, Laundry Bay, Rinn Ban Bay, Ballinafad Bay, Andresna Bay, Lough Brick Bay, the back of Annaghloy, Ballindoon Bay and the mouth of the River Unshin. Lake olives are noted over weedier 'bog' bays such as Kelly’s Angle, Ballantyne’s Bay, Ballindoon Bay, Brickeen Bay, The Thumbs, Laundry Bay, Rinn Ban Bay, Drumdoe Bay and Andresna Bay. The classic drift style is to fish points from deep to shallow and back into deep water, and later-summer Green Peter and sedge fishing is focused around Ballantyne’s Bay, Ballinafad Bay, Laundry Bay, Rinn Ban Bay, the Flags of Aughanagh, Andresna Bay, Annaghloy Point, Lough Brick, Ballindoon Bay, the Unshin mouth and the east side of Gildea’s Island. Dodd’s Shore is specifically flagged for extensive dangerous shallows, so boat lines there need care.
