When to use
The flat-water specialist: with no hackle, the body sits in the film and the deer-hair fan gives the wing print selective trout inspect. Bring it out on smooth glides and pool tails where a hackled dry gets refused. Needs a drag-free drift and fine tippet (5X–6X); it is a poor floater in broken water — that's the CDC dun's job.
